UST wins UAAP Women's Tennis title, ends seven-year drought

University of Santo Tomas decisively won Game 3 and secured their eighth championship title in the UAAP Season 87 Women's Tennis Finals by defeating National University 3-0 on Sunday.

UST head coach Dennis Sta. Cruz expressed pride and confidence in his team, noting that many players are still in their first or second year and have a promising future ahead.

Mica Emana, who was named Rookie of the Year and Finals Most Valuable Player (MVP), played a crucial role by defeating Danna Abad 7-5, 4-6, 6-2.

Patricia Lim and Kaye Emana also contributed to the victory with straight-set wins over Julia Carvajal and JM Carcueva respectively, solidifying UST's championship win.

UST's triumph marked their first title since Season 80 and ended a seven-season drought for the team.
