UST Golden Tigresses beat UE Lady Warriors, move closer to Final Four

The University of Santo Tomas Golden Tigresses secured a decisive victory over the University of the East Lady Warriors with scores of 25-19, 25-16, and 25-15 in the UAAP Season 87 women's volleyball tournament on Saturday.

UST improved to an 8-4 record, tying with Far Eastern University for third place and maintaining a comfortable lead over fourth-place UP Fighting Maroons, moving closer to securing a Final Four spot.

Angge Poyos led UST with 12 points, while Regina Jurado contributed 10 points; rookie Kyla Cordora added 9 markers, breaking out from a slump with 7 digs and 6 receptions.

UST head coach Kung Fu Reyes praised his players' preparation and exposure during the game, expressing hope that they will build on this performance as they prepare for their next match against UP on April 23.

The victory also kept UST's twice-to-beat incentive hopes alive, tying with the current No. 2 Lady Spikers in win total.
