UST, FEU secure early UAAP men's volleyball leads

University of Santo Tomas (UST) and Far Eastern University (FEU) secured early leads in the UAAP Season 86 men's volleyball tournament by defeating their respective opponents on Wednesday at Smart Araneta Coliseum.

UST overcame a six-point deficit in the third set to defeat University of the East with scores of 28-26, 25-19, and 26-24, extending their winning streak to two games.

Reigning MVP Josh Ybañez led UST's efforts with 12 points, while GBoy De Vega scored a game-high 14 markers and contributed 18 receptions.

FEU maintained an unbeaten record after edging out La Salle in four sets with scores of 25-18, 20-25, 25-22, and 25-17.

Dryx Saavedra led FEU's offensive efforts with 20 points, while Ariel Cacao provided excellent setting and defensive support with 24 excellent sets and five digs.
