UE beats Mapua to stay unbeaten in Shakey's Super League

University of the East defeated Mapua University in straight sets, 25-14, 25-20, 25-20, to remain unbeaten in the 2024 Shakey's Super League Collegiate Pre-season Championship on Saturday at Rizal Memorial Coliseum.

Despite missing ace winger Casiey Dongallo, who underwent a platelet-rich plasma injection in her right arm, UE performed well and secured their third win in Pool B.

Riza Nogales led the Lady Warriors with 11 points, nine of which came from attacks, while Jelaica Faye Gajero contributed nine points.

Middle blocker Alyanna Nicole Ong and wing spiker Nadine Angeli Berces scored six points each for Mapua, but they could not keep pace with UE's strong performance.

UE will face the University of Santo Tomas on Oct. 13 in their next match.
