UST beats Ateneo 4-1 in UAAP men's tennis

University of Santo Tomas secured a crucial victory over Ateneo de Manila University with a score of 4-1 in the UAAP Season 86 men's tennis tournament on Wednesday, improving their record to 9-1 and moving closer to a twice-to-beat advantage in the Final 4.

UST took an early lead after EJ Tangub and Nash Agustines along with Richard Bautista won their respective matches, but Ateneo's Noy Seno managed to score a surprising victory over reigning MVP Nilo Ledama, making it 2-1 before UST sealed the win.

Elsewhere in the tournament, University of the East (UE) defeated Adamson University 3-2 and shares second place with Ateneo at an 8-2 record.

National University also secured a victory over De La Salle University 3-2 and improved their standing to fifth place with a 5-4 record.
