US provides P950M aid for Odette-hit areas

The United States has provided an additional PHP950 million in humanitarian aid to support communities devastated by Typhoon Odette, bringing total US assistance to over PHP1 billion.

This latest donation will provide food, water, sanitation, and hygiene supplies, as well as shelter assistance for those affected in the Visayas and Mindanao regions.

The USAID will course this additional funding through emergency logistics hubs set up in Surigao del Norte to store and distribute relief supplies.

Previously, the US had donated PHP50 million to support disaster response efforts, including logistics and telecommunications support.
