China donates 10M kg rice, sends food packs to Odette-hit areas

The Chinese government has donated a total of 10,000 metric tons of rice to typhoon-hit regions in the Philippines.

On Wednesday, an additional 4,725 metric tons of rice arrived in Manila, completing the donation pledged earlier.

Social Welfare and Development Director Emmanuel Privado expressed gratitude for China's support during the relief efforts following Typhoon Odette.

China is also sending 20,000 food packages worth P8 million to affected areas in Cebu, Leyte, Negros Occidental, Bohol, Cagayan de Oro City, Surigao City, and Negros Oriental.

Each package contains five kilograms of rice, 10 canned foods, and 10 noodle packs.
