UP beats DLSU 3-1, moves to third in UAAP standings

University of the Philippines defeated De La Salle University 3-1 in a UAAP Season 86 Men's Football Tournament match on Sunday at UP Diliman Football Stadium.

Ramil Bation III scored from a free kick in the 77th minute, followed by Orlan Togores' goal in the 79th minute to secure the victory for UP after Isaac Anoh gave an early lead to De La Salle and Vincent Parpan equalized for UP in the 10th minute.

UP coach Popoy Clariño praised his team's improvement, noting that they focused on areas needing enhancement from their previous game against FEU.

UP now stands third in the standings with six points and a plus-1 goal difference after two wins and one loss, behind Ateneo de Manila University who leads with seven points (+5) and University of Santo Tomas with six points (+4).

De La Salle fell to fourth place with six points and a plus-1 goal difference following their first loss of the season.
