NUNS wins Game 1, UE wins Game 2 in UAAP Finals

National University Nazareth School (NUNS) secured a hard-fought victory over the University of the East in Game 1 of their UAAP Season 86 Finals series on Tuesday, but UE leveled the championship series at 1-1 with a comeback win on Thursday.

The NUNS boys' team won Game 1 with scores of 39-37, 26-24, 22-25, and 25-21, while UE triumphed in Game 2 with scores of 18-25, 17-25, 27-25, 26-24, and 15-11.

Coach Edgar Barroga highlighted the team's perseverance in overcoming set point deficits in Game 1, while UE head coach Raffy Mosuela emphasized his team's determination to secure their championship opportunity.

Matthew Abut, Kart Lascuña, Miguel Egger, and Dave Lardizabal played crucial roles for NUNS in securing the first two sets of Game 2, but Lance Babon and Jan Macam led UE to victory in a five-set thriller lasting two hours and 45 minutes.

The series is now tied at one game each, with the decisive Game 3 scheduled for Monday.
