UE men's basketball beats NU 74-58; Momowei leads with double-double

The University of the East (UE) men's basketball team secured a victory over National University (NU), winning 74-58 in the UAAP Season 87 second round on Saturday at Mall of Asia Arena.

Coach Jack Santiago noted that while the two-week postponement due to Tropical Storm Kristine had some negative effects, it also allowed injured players to recover and gave bench players more playing time.

UE's big man Precious Momowei led the team with a double-double of 17 points and 17 rebounds as they bounced back from their previous loss to La Salle Green Archers.

Momowei had a rare spat with teammate John Abate in the second quarter, but both players clarified that it was nothing serious and motivated each other for better performance.

With this victory, UE improved its record to 6-3, while NU's dropped to 2-8, putting UE firmly in third place in the standings.
