UE beats FEU 56-51 in UAAP men's basketball

University of the East secured its first win in UAAP Season 87 with a narrow victory over Far Eastern University, winning 56-51 in men's basketball at Araneta Coliseum on Wednesday.

Coach Jack Santiago praised his team for stepping up, especially Ethan Galang and Gjerard Wilson, who helped turn things around after an early deficit.

Galang scored eight straight points to complete the come-from-behind win, while Wilson willed the Red Warriors back from a 10-point deficit midway through the third quarter.

FEU remains winless at 0-3 under new coach Sean Chambers, despite efforts from Jorick Bautista and rookie Veejay Pre who scored 16 and 13 points respectively.

UE's next challenge will be a tough matchup against defending champion La Salle on Sunday, while FEU faces University of the Philippines in their upcoming game.
