Typhoon Ulysses Leaves PAR After Severe Flooding

Typhoon Ulysses left the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) Friday morning after causing severe flooding in parts of Luzon and Metro Manila.

PAGASA reported that as of 11 am, Ulysses was located 500 kilometers west of Iba, Zambales, moving northwest at 10 km/h with maximum sustained winds of 120 km/h and gusts up to 150 km/h.

Ulysses made landfall twice in Quezon on Wednesday evening, first in Patnanungan and then in Burdeos, before weakening into a severe tropical storm Thursday morning but reintensifying back to typhoon status at 8 am Friday.

PAGASA issued early advisories starting Sunday evening when Ulysses was still a tropical depression, providing adequate warnings for the public and affected areas.
