LPA east of Surigao may develop into TD Ulysses

A low-pressure area (LPA) east of Surigao del Sur may develop into Tropical Depression Ulysses within 24 to 36 hours.

As of Sunday afternoon, the LPA was located 920 kilometers east of Hinatuan and is expected to move north-northwest until Monday evening before turning northwest or west-northwest towards Central-Southern Luzon.

The system may bring rains over eastern sections of Luzon and Visayas starting Monday afternoon as it approaches landmass.

Meanwhile, Tropical Depression Tonyo made landfall in Masbate on Saturday night and is moving west at 25 km/h, affecting parts of Masbate, Romblon, Oriental Mindoro, and Occidental Mindoro.
