Tour of Luzon returns April 24 with international riders

The Tour of Luzon returns on April 24 with its 'Great Revival' edition in Paoay, Ilocos Norte, featuring eight stages across seven provinces in Northern and Central Luzon.

Presented by Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC), DuckWorld PH, and Cignal TV, the race will see 119 riders from 21 teams, including four international squads from Hong Kong, Malaysia, Taiwan, and South Korea, competing for a P1 million cash prize for the team champion.

The event spans 1,074.90 kilometers over eight days, culminating in a mountain top finish at Camp John Hay in Baguio City on May 1 with gradients exceeding 20 percent.

Organizers have revived the 'Eagle of the Mountain' title for the winner of the challenging final stage, and enthusiasm for the event has spread internationally, drawing interest from foreign teams despite not being listed on the UCI calendar.

The Philippine cycling community is excited about the return of this historic event, which had been shelved since its last staging in 2019.
