Hollis-Jefferson's double-double leads TNT past Magnolia 84-82

Rondae Hollis-Jefferson led TNT to a narrow 84-82 victory over Magnolia in the PBA Season 49 Governors' Cup on Tuesday at Ninoy Aquino Stadium.

TNT extended their winning streak to five games and improved to 7-1 in Group A despite being short-handed due to the absence of Kim Aurin and Rey Nambatac.

Hollis-Jefferson was instrumental with a double-double of 29 points and 25 rebounds, while RR Pogoy added 19 points for Magnolia.

Coach Chot Reyes highlighted concerns about free throw shooting, noting that the team missed 11 attempts out of 32 during the game.

In the closing moments, Hollis-Jefferson scored four of TNT's last six points, and Paul Lee made a critical three-pointer to keep Magnolia within striking distance but fumbled a chance late in the game.

Reyes emphasized the importance of improving their offensive game and free throw shooting as preparation for the playoffs.
