Magnolia advances to PBA Governors' Cup quarterfinals, beating NorthPort 110-94

Magnolia secured a ticket to the PBA Governors' Cup quarterfinals by defeating NorthPort, 110-94, in an All-Filipino clash on Friday night.

Aris Dionisio set a new franchise record with a career-high 30 points and nine three-pointers, while Zav Lucero contributed a double-double of 16 points and 12 rebounds.

Head coach Chito Victolero credited his team's focus and the hard work of Dionisio for the win, noting it was crucial to bounce back from their recent loss to TNT.

NorthPort, without Venky Jois due to injury, suffered its third straight loss and was eliminated from playoff contention.

Magnolia led by as much as 26 points in the third quarter before closing with an 83-61 advantage, while NorthPort tried a late comeback but fell short.

Joseph Eriobu and Calvin Abueva also contributed with 13 and 12 points respectively for Magnolia.
