TNT secures first in Pool A, defeats NorthPort 99-79

TNT secured first place in Pool A of the PBA Governors' Cup elimination phase by defeating NorthPort, 99-79, on Sunday, finishing their regular-season games with an 8-2 win-loss record.

Poy Erram led TNT with 17 points and 13 rebounds, while Rey Nambatac added 15 points and 11 rebounds to the victory.

TNT's defense played a crucial role in breaking open the game in the fourth quarter, limiting NorthPort to just 19 points as they scored 34 points to extend their lead.

Head coach Chot Reyes emphasized the importance of maintaining strong defense while improving their offense for the playoffs.

NorthPort ended their season with a 7-3 record and played with an All-Filipino lineup, while TNT is set to face either NLEX or Blackwater in the knockout phase depending on Monday's results.
