Former mayor Alice Guo transferred to basic detention room

Former Bamban town mayor Alice Guo left the Philippine National Police custodial center on Friday morning and will be detained in a simple room previously occupied by former Sen. Leila de Lima during her 7-year legal battle.

PNP spokesperson Jean Fajardo stated that Guo was escorted out of the facility around 9:40 AM by the PNP's Headquarters Support Service, showing media the basic room where she would be housed.

Capas Regional Trial Court Branch 109 issued an arrest warrant for Guo earlier this week, and her camp has opted not to post bail on her criminal cases filed before a Tarlac court.

According to GMA Integrated News reporter Mariz Umali, Guo is currently detained in the same ordinary quarters where former Senator Leila de Lima was held during her detention. The room features basic amenities like a ceiling fan, toilet, small table, and bed without air conditioning.

Interior and Local Government Secretary Benhur Abalos assured the public that there would be no special treatment for Guo, emphasizing that she is being treated just like an ordinary detainee with no cellphone or air conditioning.
