Graft case against Bamban mayor transferred to Valenzuela RTC

The graft case against dismissed Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo has been transferred to the Regional Trial Court in Valenzuela City pursuant to OCA Circular No. 10-2024.

Senate Majority Leader Francis Tolentino announced that RTC Branch 109 in Capas canceled the scheduled arraignment and pre-trial of Guo after confirming the transfer, which corrects jurisdictional errors.

Guo faces multiple charges, including human trafficking, misrepresentation under immigration laws, and 87 counts of money laundering amounting to around P7 billion.

The Clerk of Court in Valenzuela received Guo's case folders on Friday at 8:10 a.m., and scheduled a raffle for the case on Sept. 19.

Under OCA Circular No. 10-2024, cases involving local officials should be forwarded to the nearest RTC of the nearest judicial region from where the official holds public office.
