Super Typhoon Karding Intensifies, PAGASA Raises Tropical Cyclone Wind Signals

Super typhoon Karding intensified further on Sunday, prompting PAGASA to raise Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 1 in several areas and TCWS No. 2 in eastern Isabela and Aurora.

As of early Sunday morning, Karding's maximum sustained winds were at 185 km/h, with gustiness up to 230 km/h, prompting PAGASA to upgrade it to a super typhoon.

TCWS No. 2 is raised over the eastern portion of Isabela and northern Aurora, while TCWS No. 1 covers more towns in these regions.

Karding may continue to intensify on Sunday and could make landfall at peak intensity near Isabela or Cagayan with maximum sustained winds between 185-205 km/h.

PAGASA warns of heavy rains over Northern and Central Luzon starting Saturday, potentially causing isolated to scattered flooding and rain-induced landslides.
