Habagat brings scattered rain to Luzon and Visayas

The southwest monsoon, also known as 'habagat,' continues to bring scattered rain showers and thunderstorms to parts of Luzon and Visayas through Wednesday.

PAGASA warns that flash floods and landslides are possible in Metro Manila, Bataan, Zambales, Cavite, Batangas, Occidental Mindoro, northern Palawan including Cuyo Islands, Central Luzon, Southern Luzon, and the western part of the Visayas.

The rest of the country will experience isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms with moderate to strong winds over extreme northern Luzon and light to moderate winds elsewhere.

A low pressure area (LPA) formed inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), located 1,015 km east of Central Luzon on Wednesday, but PAGASA says it has a slim chance of developing into a tropical cyclone.
