Cotabato provinces under preemptive lockdown due to coronavirus

The provinces of North Cotabato and South Cotabato have implemented preemptive lockdowns due to rising concerns over coronavirus (Covid-19).

North Cotabato Governor Nancy Catamco ordered a province-wide lockdown effective Tuesday, March 17, with curfew hours from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. until April 14.

South Cotabato Gov. Reynaldo Tamayo Jr. declared a similar lockdown on Monday, March 16, including a 10-hour curfew and restrictions on non-essential travel.

Both governors emphasized the need for these measures to protect their residents from the spread of the virus.
