QC unlikely to impose full city-wide quarantine

Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte announced on Friday that the city is unlikely to impose a full quarantine, instead focusing on strict compliance of existing measures against COVID-19.

The city has seven confirmed cases and barangay health teams are being trained in proper use of personal protective equipment.

A state of calamity was declared over Quezon City due to the coronavirus threat, allowing access to Quick Response Funds for barangays.

Quezon City will rent establishments as quarantine facilities and prohibit mass gatherings such as sports events and fiesta celebrations.
