Sara Duterte leaves OVP budget to House decision

Vice President Sara Duterte has reiterated that her office is leaving it up to the House of Representatives to decide on its proposed 2025 budget.

In a letter dated September 11, Duterte acknowledged receiving a request from Rep. Zia Alonto Adiong for a meeting and stated that the OVP will leave its budget deliberation in the plenary 'entirely to the pleasure' of the House.

The OVP has submitted all required documents to the House Committee on Appropriations regarding its P2 billion budget request, which was communicated to Speaker Martin Romualdez and panel chairperson Zaldy Co.

Scheduled for Monday's deliberation are the proposed budgets of the OVP, Department of Agriculture, Department of Energy, National Security Council, and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.

The House is set to approve the proposed P6.352-trillion national budget on third and final reading on Wednesday, September 25.

Duterte's office released a taped interview where she said her office can function even without a budget, despite previous snubs of House hearings over funding disagreements.
