VP Sara skips oath, accuses House of political attack

Vice President Sara Duterte attended the House Committee on Good Government and Public Accountability's first hearing into the Office of the Vice President's fund utilization on Wednesday but left early after refusing to be placed under oath.

Duterte accused the House of carrying out a 'well-funded and coordinated political attack' meant to dismantle her chances in the 2028 election, maintaining that her office had not done anything wrong.

Despite the allegations, Duterte vowed to continue serving the people no matter the personal cost.

Lawmakers proceeded with the hearing even without Duterte or any representative from the OVP for over six hours, while some urged her to address their concerns directly.

Panel chair Rep. Joel Chua denied that the probe was part of a grand effort ahead of a planned impeachment against Duterte.
