Duterte declares state of calamity in Luzon

President Rodrigo Duterte has declared a state of calamity in Luzon following the devastation caused by Typhoons Rolly, Quinta, and Ulysses.

The declaration was signed Tuesday night and will allow local governments to access quick response funds for rehabilitation efforts.

It also enables price control measures on basic goods and commodities.

NDRRMC spokesperson Dr. Peter Paul Galvez said the move would expedite rescue and relief operations.
