Duterte assures troops, aid for Ulysses victims

President Rodrigo Duterte assured on Saturday that sufficient troops will be deployed in Region 2 to assist residents affected by flooding from Typhoon Ulysses.

Earlier, on Thursday, Duterte promised quick relief for flood victims in Metro Manila and nearby provinces, emphasizing government assistance would include shelters, relief goods, financial aid, and post-disaster counseling.

Duterte renewed his call for local and national agencies to prioritize the well-being of affected people, stressing that no one will be left behind.

During a speech on Thursday, Duterte also addressed criticism about his presence during the crisis, stating he had wanted to go out to help but was prevented from doing so.
