NDRRMC recommends state of calamity over entire Luzon

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) has recommended placing the entire Luzon under a state of calamity due to damage from Super Typhoon Rolly and subsequent typhoons.

President Rodrigo Duterte has received this recommendation but has not yet made a decision.

During an emergency meeting, NDRRMC also agreed to form a technical working group to assess dam management and tasked PAGASA with revisiting historical data for better early warnings.
