Sisi Rondina outperforms Brooke Van Sickle in 5-set PVL match

Sisi Rondina of Choco Mucho outperformed Filipino-American player Brooke Van Sickle in their highly-anticipated match on Tuesday at Philsports Arena during the 2024 PVL All-Filipino Conference.

Rondina, a two-time Southeast Asian Games bronze medalist and former beach volleyball player, edged Van Sickle with a strong all-around performance as Choco Mucho won in five sets against Petro Gazz (24-26, 25-23, 25-18, 24-26, 15-13).

Despite acknowledging Van Sickle's experience playing both indoor and beach volleyball in the US, Rondina showcased her defensive skills and contributed significantly to Choco Mucho’s victory with 24 points and 22 excellent receptions.

Rondina praised Van Sickle for her strength and versatility but also emphasized that small players like herself can still make a significant impact on the game within Coach Dante Alinsunurin's system.

Both Rondina and Van Sickle, who are expected to face off again in future matches, demonstrated their prowess as key anchors for their teams, setting high standards for upcoming games.
