Brooke Van Sickle nervous but wins debut with Petro Gazz

Filipino-American volleyball player Brooke Van Sickle admitted feeling nervous during her debut in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference opener on Tuesday, noting that she experienced 'first game jitters'.

Despite initial nerves, Petro Gazz Angels secured a convincing 3-0 victory over Strong Group Athletics with scores of 25-12, 25-20, and 25-12 at Philsports Arena.

Van Sickle contributed seven points to her team's win but praised the opposing team for their scrappy defense and fighting spirit.

Her previous experience in the Philippine National Volleyball Federation Champions League helped ease her transition into PVL play, allowing for a smoother adjustment to the game style and crowd atmosphere.

The University of Hawaii standout emphasized that she is thankful to her teammates for making the adjustment easier and acknowledged areas for improvement in future matches.

Van Sickle stressed the importance of hard work and building team chemistry as Petro Gazz prepares to face Choco Mucho next week.
