Choco Mucho wins 5-set thriller over Petro Gazz

The Choco Mucho Flying Titans secured their second consecutive victory in the 2024 PVL All-Filipino Conference with a five-set triumph over Petro Gazz Angels late Tuesday night at PhilSports Arena.

Despite Petro Gazz's strong performance, particularly from Jonah Sabet who scored 29 points and Brooke Van Sickle who contributed 18 points, Choco Mucho managed to clinch the win after two hours and 36 minutes of play with scores of 24-26, 25-22, 25-18, 24-26, and 15-13.

Sisi Rondina led Choco Mucho's attack with 24 points, while Mars Alba distributed the ball effectively with 25 excellent sets to support their offense.

Coach Dante Alinsunurin expressed relief after the tense match, noting that his team had several opportunities to end it earlier but was ultimately grateful for the victory despite an anticlimactic finish.

In the decisive fifth set, Choco Mucho established an early advantage with Sisi Rondina's crucial plays, only to face a late surge from Petro Gazz before Marian Buitre's service error sealed the win for Choco Mucho.
