DLSU beats UP 76-75 in UAAP men's, Quiambao key in comeback

Mike Phillips of De La Salle University (DLSU) scored 18 points and grabbed 12 rebounds as DLSU narrowly beat UP with a 76-75 victory in Game 2 of the UAAP Season 87 men's basketball Finals on Wednesday at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Kevin Quiambao, who was officially proclaimed the back-to-back UAAP Most Valuable Player before the game, led DLSU with 22 points and nine rebounds, scoring 11 crucial points in the fourth quarter to erase a nine-point deficit and secure the win for DLSU.

Quiambao's clutch performance included three timely shots down the stretch that helped DLSU overtake UP, 74-73, with an 11-2 run following back-to-back triples.

Phillips praised Quiambao's effort and passion throughout the game as they prepare for Game 3 on Sunday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.

He encouraged his teammates to embrace hardships and persevere through challenges as part of their championship journey.
