Cagulangan signs with Korean team after UAAP win

Jovic 'JD' Cagulangan concluded his collegiate career as the UAAP men's basketball champion with the University of the Philippines (UP) Fighting Maroons on Sunday, and soon signed with the Korean Basketball League’s Suwon KT Sonicboom.

Cagulangan, named Finals MVP for his contributions throughout the series, expressed gratitude to coach Goldwin Monteverde and teammates like Francis Lopez, Quentin Millora-Brown, and Harold Alarcon following their victory.

Reflecting on his journey with UP, Cagulangan described it as a rollercoaster ride filled with highs and lows but emphasized the support from Coach Gold that helped them overcome challenges.

The veteran guard's collegiate career began at De La Salle University before transferring to UP in Season 82, where he led them to their second title in four seasons this year after overcoming setbacks including injuries and losses during eliminations.

Cagulangan hinted at his prospects for the professional ranks, noting that he prioritized overseas offers like the KBL over local leagues such as the MPBL and PBA.
