The residents of Sitio San Roque gathered to receive promised food aid but formed a barricade along EDSA service road, leading to their arrest by police.

Community leader Josie Lopez appealed for the release of her colleagues, emphasizing that they only wanted food and assistance during the quarantine.

One resident broke down in tears, pleading for food for her family.

The Quezon City Police District chief stated that negotiations with the protesters failed, resulting in their arrests under the law.
