PNP arrests over 17K for ECQ violations

As of Monday, March 30, the Philippine National Police (PNP) has arrested over 17,000 people for violating the enhanced community quarantine guidelines.

From March 17 to 29, 7,627 arrests were made in Luzon, 2,521 in Metro Manila, and 6,891 elsewhere in the country.

In addition to arrests, 48,273 individuals received warnings and 3,777 were fined for violations.

The PNP emphasized that they are not being lenient on curfew violators at the request of local government units struggling to enforce the quarantine.
