Samar town tightens lockdown despite easing measures

The town of Tarangnan in Samar has imposed stricter lockdown rules despite national easing measures.

Mayor Arnel Tan announced an executive order placing all 41 villages under total lockdown following six new cases on Monday night, bringing the total to nine since April 7.

Residents are only allowed to leave their homes three times a week for essential needs and emergency cases.

Coastal residents can send one person with certification from their village chief to buy essentials in the town center.

Samar Governor Michael Tan pledged full support to Tarangnan, emphasizing provision of basic needs to prevent residents from leaving their houses.
