UST rallies to beat St. Benilde 3-2 in V-League Women's Collegiate Challenge

University of Santo Tomas (UST) secured a comeback victory against College of St. Benilde in the V-League Women's Collegiate Challenge on Sunday at Paco Arena.

Angeline Poyos, UST's reigning UAAP Rookie of the Year, scored 22 points and delivered crucial hits in the deciding set to lead her team back from behind with a score of 25-16, 19-25, 14-25, 25-22, 15-12.

UST coach Kungfu Reyes praised his players' resilience and maturity, noting their ability to recover after dropping back-to-back sets for the first time in the tournament.

Wielyn Estoque from St. Benilde had a standout performance with 31 points but could not prevent her team from falling to a 2-3 record in the tournament.

UST will face Colegio de San Juan de Letran on September 4, while St. Benilde will play against Lyceum of the Philippines U Lady Pirates on September 11.
