UST beats Letran, extends winning streak to three

University of Santo Tomas secured a victory over Colegio de San Juan de Letran in the 2024 V-League Men's Collegiate Challenge with a match score of 25-23, 25-12, 20-25, 25-18 at Paco Arena on Wednesday.

Five players scored in double figures for UST, including rookies Al-Bukharie Sali and Trevor Valera who each contributed 14 points.

Head coach Odjie Mamon acknowledged areas needing improvement despite the win, emphasizing a focus on refining team strategies before their next match against Emilio Aguinaldo College on Sunday at 12 p.m.

UST's victory extended their winning streak to three matches and improved their record to 3-2, tying them with National University for third place in the standings.

Vince Himzon led Letran with 16 points but couldn't prevent his team from dropping to sixth place in the standings; they will face Far Eastern University on Sunday at 2 p.m.
