PNP chief suggests limiting Manila Bay dolomite beach visitors

PNP Chief Police General Guillermo Eleazar suggested limiting Manila Bay's dolomite beach visitors to 25% capacity to avoid overcrowding during the pandemic.

Eleazar proposed deploying more police officers and controlling entry and exit points, with Manila Police District planning to deploy 100 cops on weekdays and 150 on weekends.

On Sunday, around 65,000 people visited the beach, prompting authorities to temporarily halt entries when crowds reached 4,000.

Eleazar also ordered MPD chief Brigadier General Leo Francisco to coordinate with DENR and Manila City government for crowd control and adherence to health protocols.
