Filipino Diamond Princess crew health worries grow as repatriation delayed

Relatives of Filipino crew members on the Diamond Princess cruise ship in Japan expressed concern over their health as some tested positive for COVID-19.

As of Saturday, February 22, 49 Filipinos aboard the ship were confirmed to have COVID-19 and are receiving treatment in Japanese hospitals.

The repatriation of these Filipinos was initially planned for Sunday but may be delayed due to ongoing testing for the coronavirus.

Malacañang announced that 497 Filipinos intend to return home on chartered flights from Haneda Airport, with a quarantine at Athlete's Village in New Clark City upon arrival.
