Stranded OFWs unable to return from Macau due to lack of flights

Filipino workers stranded due to the China coronavirus outbreak are unable to return home via direct flights from Macau.

Despite the lifting of the travel ban for OFWs and students traveling to Hong Kong and Macau, no available Macau-Manila flights have left many OFWs stranded.

The DFA has exempted Filipinos leaving to study abroad and permanent residents of Hong Kong and Macau from the travel ban, allowing them to enter these regions.

Foreign spouses and children of Filipinos from China, Hong Kong, and Macau are now allowed entry into the Philippines but must undergo a 14-day quarantine.

OFWs returning to work in Hong Kong and Macau will need to provide a written declaration acknowledging the risk of contracting COVID-19.
