Philippines sends largest Olympic delegation in 36 years

The Philippines sends its largest Olympic delegation in over three decades to the Paris Games, marking the country's centennial year of participation.

Twenty-two athletes aim to surpass their historic achievements from the Tokyo Olympics where they secured a breakthrough gold medal for weightlifter Hidilyn Diaz and multiple boxing medals.

Carlos Yulo competes in men's artistic gymnastics while boxers Nesthy Petecio, Carlo Paalam, and Eumir Marcial represent in women’s 57kg and men’s 80kg categories respectively alongside pole vaulter EJ Obiena.

Other notable athletes include rower Joanie Delgaco, swimmer Kayla Sanchez, golfer Bianca Pagdanganan, and judoka Kiyomi Watanabe who are set to participate in the Games starting July 26.

The Philippine Olympic Committee hopes this strong contingent will continue the country's tradition of athletic excellence and inspire future generations as Filipinos can watch events on free TV channels like One Sports and RPTV or pay TV services including Cignal TV.
