Filipino-Am gymnasts Aleah Finnegan, Levi Jung-Ruivivar, Emma Malabuyo to rep PH at Paris Olympics

Filipino-American gymnasts Aleah Finnegan, Levi Jung-Ruivivar, and Emma Malabuyo will represent the Philippines at the Paris Olympics 2024.

Finnegan, who initially focused on collegiate gymnastics while at Louisiana State University, decided to compete for the Philippines after discussions with her Filipino mother.

Finnegan's decision was influenced by a desire to honor her family and cultural heritage; she won two golds and two silvers in the 2022 Southeast Asian Games and secured a quota spot in the 2023 World Artistic Gymnastics Championship, earning her a place at the Paris Olympics.

Finnegan is part of a family legacy in gymnastics, with her sister Hannah having competed for the Philippines in previous SEA Games.

Malabuyo, an elite UCLA gymnast and alternate for Team USA in Tokyo 2020, also decided to represent the Philippines alongside Finnegan.

Both Finnegan and Malabuyo are committed to contributing more to Philippine gymnastics beyond their Olympic participation.
