Philippines Reports Sufficient Funds for Ongoing COVID-19 Response

The Philippines currently has sufficient funds allocated for its response to the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) outbreak, according to Malacañang spokesperson Harry Roque. The government is not in urgent need of a supplemental budget from Congress at this time and believes it still has enough resources available as-is.

According to Finance Secretary Carlos Dominguez III, the government had already spent PHP352.7 billion on its efforts against the virus by April 23rd.

As of April 27th, Roque stated that there were only PHP77 billion in remaining funds dedicated to halting the spread of the new coronavirus.
