Amihan brings rain, cool weather to N Luzon, Bicol, E Visayas

The northeast monsoon (Amihan) continues to bring cool and rainy weather across northern Luzon, parts of Metro Manila, and eastern sections of Southern Luzon and Visayas, according to PAGASA's latest weather report on Friday.

Cagayan Valley, Apayao, Kalinga, Aurora, Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, Quezon, Caraga, and Davao Region will experience cloudy skies with scattered to heavy rains due to Amihan and the shear line, prompting residents in these areas to bring umbrellas when going out.

The Bicol Region and Eastern Visayas may have overcast skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms caused by the shear line, which could lead to flash floods or landslides during severe weather conditions. By Sunday, Caraga and Davao Region will also experience similar conditions as Amihan surges further south.

Metro Manila and other parts of Luzon will see partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains from Amihan, with no major impact expected.

Elsewhere in the Visayas and Mindanao, partly cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms are forecast due to easterlies and localized thunderstorms. PAGASA warns of potential flooding and landslides in affected areas.

Strong winds and rough coastal waters will be felt over the eastern sections of Southern Luzon and Visayas, while moderate to strong winds and moderate seas will prevail elsewhere.

Mindanao is expected to have light to moderate wind speeds moving northeastward with slight to moderate seas.
