Pagasa forecasts fair weather in Metro Manila, scattered rain in Bicol

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) forecasts fair weather with partly cloudy skies over Metro Manila and nearby provinces on January 9, Tuesday.

Weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio noted that temperatures in Metro Manila will range between 23 to 32 degrees Celsius until Thursday, January 11.

The clear weather is attributed to the weakening northeast monsoon ('amihan'), which now only affects Northern and Central Luzon.

Visayas and Mindanao regions are expected to feel warm easterlies from the Pacific Ocean, while Bicol Region and Southern Luzon may experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the shearline.

Residents in these areas are advised to be cautious of possible flash floods or landslides caused by moderate to heavy rains.

The rest of the country can expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain, mainly due to easterlies and localized thunderstorms.
