Amihan brings chilly evenings to Luzon until mid-February

Some parts of Luzon will continue to experience chilly evenings due to the northeast monsoon or 'amihan', according to state meteorologists.

The colder temperatures may persist until mid-February as the northeast monsoon continues to affect northern and central regions, leading to slightly cooler conditions in cities like Baguio, Tuguegarao, and Laoag.

Temperatures in Metro Manila are expected to range from 23 to 30 degrees Celsius with occasional lows of around 20 degrees Celsius; as of Monday morning, Baguio City recorded a low of 13.2°C.

Pagasa forecasts cloudy skies with light rains in the Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, Aurora, Quezon, and Bicol Region due to the northeast monsoon, while partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains are expected over Metro Manila and other parts of Luzon and Visayas.

A shear line may bring light to moderate rainfall in Southern Leyte, Caraga, Northern Mindanao, and Davao Region, while isolated rains are expected over parts of Zamboanga Peninsula, Soccksargen, and Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.
