PGH spox who survived COVID gets first vaccine

Dr. Jonas del Rosario, the spokesperson of the Philippine General Hospital (PGH) who recovered from COVID-19 but lost his parents to the virus, was chosen as the first person to receive a vaccine at PGH.

Del Rosario has been speaking for PGH daily since March 22 and contracted the virus himself.

PGH director Dr. Gerardo Legaspi said this symbolic gesture is meant to boost public confidence in the vaccination program.

As of Thursday morning, 5,134 PGH employees have pre-registered for the vaccine with the goal of having 'zero wastage' of the expected 5,300 vaccines.
