FDA grants Sinopharm compassionate use permit to PSG

The FDA granted a compassionate use permit for 10,000 doses of Sinopharm's COVID-19 vaccine to the Presidential Security Group (PSG) on February 11.

Senator Risa Hontiveros questioned this decision, noting that vaccines from Pfizer-BioNTech and AstraZeneca have already received emergency use authorization.

Hontiveros emphasized that there should be no fast lane for PSG when healthcare workers are not receiving special treatment despite their sacrifices during the pandemic.

The FDA chief stated that PSG complied with all requirements for the compassionate use permit.
