Philippines to receive up to 10M COVID-19 vaccines from COVAX

The Philippines is set to receive up to 10 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine from the COVAX Facility, mostly AstraZeneca brand, starting as early as February pending WHO approval.

British Ambassador Daniel Pruce announced that the Philippines will be among the first recipients of vaccines under the COVAX initiative, with an indicative distribution of up to nearly 10 million doses in Q1 2021.

WHO Representative Dr. Rabindra Abeyasinghe expressed optimism that up to 9.2 million doses could arrive by March or April, contingent on the Philippines meeting necessary arrangements and requirements set by COVAX and vaccine manufacturers.
